The famous "Gomez Contour" as I call it is perhaps one of the most beautiful and subtle aspects of the early solid body Spanish guitar. Tadeo could have certainly left this area of the neck sharp, angular, and unforgiving, but instead he chose to craft and sand it in an unforgettable way. This is just one more aspect of early solid bodies that makes each one truly unique. Thanks for the beautiful, beautiful work you left us, Mr. Gomez!
Below is my take on the man's original plans, as a sidenote, since I have started faithfully recreating this aspect of my necks, I have been told that several other makers have started doing this, even quoting my descriptions of this elusive "taper" as their own. I think that is great! No more sharp, ugly necks ever again!
